Hah! (Imitation of Damon's laugh)

That was Damon to a T. His infectious laugh followed by a pig like snort then a hand over his mouth in mock embarrassment only made us laugh harder.

We've all shared pictures and videos recently of Damon, James saying some of what he watched was me and Damon being knobheads, and yes I can't argue with that! But in every one he was always smiling as his zest for enjoyment was unfathomable.

For the Kiwis here this will sound normal but knowun and flowun just isn't right!! The amount of times we talked about it is unbelievable to the point where James and Damon would pause, rewind then video someone saying knowun to prove its real. And the way you guys say decks on a ship makes me wonder how he coped in the New Zealand navy!

We've always had a knack of bouncing off each other, we didnt go looking for trouble but we always made it ourselves. The most recent being was his idea for me to drive the then 10 day old car to mums to pick James up, while I safety drove an automatic in 2000 things didnt end up well and can still hear James saying whys it always you fucking two!!

We got in trouble but we sure got around, from hand dancing to shine bright like a diamond on the couch in Streatham, the chicken dance in Barnstaple Cross, the gorilla dance in Sitges and the flossing in Grapevine Manor, plus all the other bits like blaming his mum for us being late back because of her legs, not the drinks we had as we helped her home in benidorm taking pictures and laughing all the way home.

There's a quote from a book I've just finished and it says, “A bond does not break clean—it tears, leaving scars that echo in the silence where a voice once was.” Damon has definitely left a big echo in all our hearts and for that im grateful to have knowun him, he was and shall be a part of our lives.
